Agenda
The detailed program will be posted here as speakers and sessions are confirmed. All times will be given in Mountain Daylight Time (MDT, UTC−6).
Day 1 · Define scope, trust, and readiness
What do hybrid ML-physics models and climate emulators each contribute, where do their requirements overlap, and what is ready now under an explicit readiness scale? Focus on shared vocabulary, failure modes, budgets, drift, feedbacks, long-rollout credibility, and a candid readiness ladder.
Target outcome: Shared vocabulary for hybrid models and emulators; readiness map; initial failure-mode catalog.
Detailed session schedule to be announced.
Day 2 · Build the test ladder and design coupling
Which lower-order models, idealized systems, architectures, interfaces, training data, and out-of-distribution tests make both hybrid models and emulators physically credible? Focus on atmosphere–ocean–land–ice coupling, conservation, and generalization.
Target outcome: Draft test-case ladder, benchmark design, coupling checklist, and training-data priorities for both threads.
Detailed session schedule to be announced.
Day 3 · Build the roadmap
Which benchmark, intercomparison, diagnostics suite, implementation plan, and governance structure will move the combined community forward over the following six months?
Target outcome: White paper outline, pilot intercomparison plan, working-group leads, and timeline.
Detailed session schedule to be announced.
